ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Three Bridges Audio Walk was created by writer and Limerick native Alanna MacNamee. Having walked the Three Bridges countless times during the Covid-19 lockdowns, Alanna became curious about the people and places she encountered while walking around Limerick City.

This inspired Alanna to share her experiences and bring her walking route to life for others. After lengthy discussions with friends and family about the stops to include, the Three Bridges Audio Walk was born.

At the moment, the walk features seven stops, each telling the story of a part of Limerick's culture and history. Alanna says: "The Three Bridges Audio Walk is a love letter to my rainy native city, a place of culture, community and craic."

Pause, take photographs, say hello to the people you pass on the walk. Remember that as you walk the Three Bridges, you are connecting with a community of others who walk the route every day.

No matter if you're happy, sad or lonely: know that you'll never walk alone.
